The public and revolutionary prosecutor of Khorasan Razavi announced that a doctor’s clinic in Kashmar has been sealed on charges of insulting a veiled woman and clergy.
Mohammad Hossein Doroudi stated that following the circulation of images on social media, this doctor has been summoned and after being informed of the charges, the necessary legal measures have been taken.
According to the issued judicial supervision order, this doctor is currently prohibited from practicing medical activities and legal investigations and actions in this regard are ongoing.
Efforts to silence any criticism or protest, especially after recent protests, have intensified.
Last week, a proposal titled ‘Punishment for Non-Expert Opinions on the Parliament’s Presiding Board’ was presented in Iran, which states that anyone who expresses false statements that have widespread impact will be sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison and fined more than 36 million tomans. Some critics have referred to this proposal as the ‘strangulation plan’.
