The cause of Reza Darabi’s death in the street fire was the lack of adherence to construction standards.

Ahmad Hajivand, a former commander of the Tehran Fire Department, should be mentioned. The firefighting equipment in Tehran is relatively up-to-date and not lacking compared to equipment in developed countries. The uniform worn by American firefighters is not much different from the Iranian firefighters’ uniform. Fortunately, we don’t have significant weaknesses in firefighting equipment.

The main factor in the occurrence of such unsafe incidents is the unsafe construction of buildings and mismanagement. The tragic Plasco incident was also a result of this issue. Although after the incident, city council representatives followed up on the legal process regarding the failure to adhere to safety regulations in the construction of the building, this pursuit only lasted for two to three weeks.
