The Sound of Tic Tac: A Spyware

The Tick Tock sound is a spyware

The White House has given a 30-day deadline to remove Tick Tock from government devices

According to Iran Gate, the Tick Tock sound is a spyware that the White House has given federal agencies 30 days to remove the video-sharing program known as Tick Tock from all government electronic devices. Washington defines this action as an important step in dealing with the risks that this program poses to sensitive government data.

Shalanda Young, the head of the Office of Management and Budget, says that the provided timeline is an important step in addressing the risks associated with the Tick Tock program for sensitive government data. She adds that the Biden administration has invested in defending our digital infrastructure, and this timeline is part of the government’s commitment to protecting the security and privacy of Americans.

This ban will not apply to businesses not affiliated with the federal government, as well as ordinary citizens who use this app. Tick Tock has not yet responded to the new guidelines issued by the US government, but the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned this ban.

Spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mao Ning, said that the ban on European Union employees using TikTok undermines international trust in the EU’s business environment. He called on the EU to provide a non-discriminatory business environment for companies from all countries to operate.

In response to a question about the TikTok ban by the United States, Mao Ning, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in a press conference in Beijing that the United States, as the world’s number one power, is actually afraid of a mobile application that young people love.

Mao emphasized that the United States should respect the principles of fair competition and stop suppressing rival companies with American companies. He stated that we strongly oppose the United States’ wrong performance in extending the concept of national security and abusing governmental power to irrationally suppress companies from other countries.

This action was taken by the United States on Monday, while Canada and the European Union also imposed similar bans. Canada, in a similar move, is removing TikTok from all government-supplied mobile devices. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said this could be the first step towards further actions. TikTok is very popular among young people, but its Chinese ownership has raised concerns that Beijing could use it to collect data from Western users and provide misleading narratives and information in favor of China.

Last week, two major policy-making bodies in the European Union also banned the use of this application on employees’ phones. The European Commission has announced that the use of this app is prohibited on its equipment and has instructed all its employees to delete the TikTok app from their official mobile phones. Additionally, if they have installed any related apps on their personal phones, they must also remove this Chinese app.

Positive vote of the House of Representatives on the TikTok ban

The US House of Representatives also voted in favor of a nationwide ban on the social media platform TikTok by the country’s president on Thursday, March 1st.

The United States House Committee on Foreign Affairs approved a bill on Thursday that allows President Joe Biden to ban the use of the TikTok social media network throughout the country.

Before the bill becomes law with the President’s signature, it must also be approved by American senators in Congress.

Michael McCaul, a Republican representative in the United States House of Representatives, initiated the discussion on this matter in Congress. The discussion began on Wednesday but the vote was delayed until Thursday and ultimately approved by the House of Representatives.

TikTok has repeatedly denied allegations of sharing data or surrendering control to the Chinese government. However, Western governments express doubts about this. Previously, the company admitted that its employees in China had access to the data of American citizens. Nevertheless, it consistently denies allegations of providing this personal information to Chinese authorities.

Following concerns raised by US authorities, TikTok had announced in June last year that it would store all user data of American users on servers located in the United States.

It is planned that Shuzi Chu, the CEO of TikTok, will attend Congress for the first time on March 23rd and explain the potential risks of using this application to members of Congress.
