Aniseh Khazali: The spokesperson was wrong about the restrictions on women leaving the country

The Deputy of Women and Family Affairs of the President of Iran says that the news of further restrictions on Iranian women and girls leaving the country was a mistake by the spokesperson of the parliamentary judicial commission

Aniseh Khazali told ILNA that the issue is not about unmarried women. They made a mistake. When I heard about this issue, I protested and sent a message, and they said they will correct it

Ms. Khazali emphasized that by ‘guardian’, they meant only the husband

A few days ago, Kazem Delkhosh, the spokesperson of the parliamentary judicial commission, said that the commission members considered the exit of women from the country as permissible under normal circumstances with the permission of the guardian, except in special cases where the exit from the country is done by a court order

He criticized the Iranian media the next day for spreading lies and said that the parliamentary resolution has made foreign travel easier for women

Previously, the exit of married Iranian women from the country has been conditional on the permission of their spouses. In some cases, such as Niloufar Ardalan, the captain of the women’s futsal team, and Yasamira Zaragari, the coach of the national skiing team, it has been reported that women were prohibited from leaving by their spouses
