The UK is closing the Afghan embassy in London

The Afghan embassy in London has announced on its official account on the social network X that it will be closing

In a statement from the embassy, which is managed by Zalmai Rassoul, the former government’s foreign minister, it is stated that the closure is being carried out at the official request of the UK

According to this statement, the Afghan embassy in London will officially close on September 27, 2024, approximately two weeks from now, based on the host country’s authorities’ discretion

The Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on July 30, 2023, that it would no longer accept documents issued by Afghan representations in European countries, Canada, and Australia, but it specifically exempted Afghan representations in Spain, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, and Munich, Germany
