Trump suffered a defeat in the US capital by Nikki Haley
Nikki Haley, the only remaining rival of Donald Trump in the Republican primary elections, managed to win in a party vote in Washington, D.C., the capital of the United States, and defeated Donald Trump for the first time.
However, the gap between the votes of these two is so large that Mr. Trump’s final victory in the competition for the Republican nomination seems certain.
On Monday, Republicans in the US capital participated in their party elections, and ultimately Nikki Haley was able to win Washington, D.C. with 63% of the votes against 33% of Donald Trump and secure all 19 electoral representatives of this city and district.
With the votes of the capital, Nikki Haley, the former US ambassador to the United Nations, now has 43 electoral representatives, which seems very insignificant compared to the 247 electoral representatives that Mr. Trump has won so far.
