Two Iranian warships docked in the port of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Two Iranian warships have docked at the port of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

According to Reuters, despite pressure from the United States, the Makran and Dena naval vessels have been granted permission by the Brazilian government to make a stop at the port of Rio de Janeiro.

A month ago, before his trip to the United States, Reuters reported that the President of Brazil had acted in good faith and denied permission for Iranian military ships to dock, in response to the request from the United States.

It appears that after his trip to the United States, Mr. Lula’s government has granted such permission.
