US sanctions against 9 Iranian petrochemical and oil-related companies
Simultaneously with increasing pressure from Washington on Tehran, the United States sanctioned 9 companies involved in the production, sale, and shipment of petrochemicals and oil from Iran to Asian customers on Friday, February 9th, 2020.
According to the statement, six petrochemical producers based in Iran and their subsidiaries, as well as three companies in Malaysia and Singapore representing Trilliance Petrochemical Company, are being sanctioned for their production, sale, and shipment of hundreds of millions of dollars worth of petrochemicals and oil from Iran.
Previously, Trilliance Petrochemical Company was sanctioned by the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury on January 23rd, 2020.
