Violent and deadly clash in Nablus
After two Israelis were killed in their car by gunfire, Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank set fire to Palestinian homes, shops, and vehicles.
According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, over a hundred people have been treated for tear gas inhalation by Israeli security forces.
These acts of violence occurred in the settlement of Hawara in southern Nablus, hours after Israeli and Palestinian security officials signed an agreement in Jordan, mediated by the United States and Egypt, to end the escalating violence that has intensified in the past two months.
According to the agreement, a peace process will be initiated and Israel will halt settlement construction in the occupied West Bank for six months. However, a few hours later, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted that settlement construction in these areas will not be stopped.
