Warning of devastating earthquakes in Istanbul, Turkey

The Turkish newspaper Hürriyet reported on Friday that experts predict a much larger earthquake will occur in the city of Istanbul, causing significantly more casualties and damage than the previous Marmara earthquake.

The newspaper added that in the scenario of a 7.5 magnitude or higher earthquake in Istanbul, over 211,000 apartment units will be severely affected.

This figure actually means that it will harm an average of 1.3 million people.
