What Happens with Exchanges That Refuse to Offer Arbaeen Currency

Regarding exchange offices that refuse to provide Arbaeen currency

The Central Bank issued a directive warning exchange offices not to refuse providing Arbaeen currency to pilgrims. The text of this directive is as follows:

Following the previous announcement by this bank regarding prioritizing the provision of Arbaeen currency services, it is hereby informed that any refusal to provide Arbaeen currency services and prioritizing other services by exchange offices during the period when pilgrims are traveling to the holy sites, as well as conditioning the provision of these services on terms outside the directives of this bank, will face the strictest supervisory actions, including the suspension of the exchange office’s activities and the disqualification of offending managers.

Inspectors from this bank will monitor the overall performance of exchange offices regarding the provision of Arbaeen currency services, both visibly and covertly, and in the event of any violations, necessary supervisory actions will be taken against the offenders.
