The White House warns Baghdad that the Iraqi government needs to act with greater vigilance.
The White House has warned Baghdad to respond more swiftly to the threats posed by Iranian-backed paramilitary groups operating within Iraq.
This warning comes as senior Iraqi officials have expressed their objections to recent US attacks in Iraq, which were carried out in response to the killing of three American soldiers by Iranian-backed forces in Iraq.
Jen Psaki, the spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, stated on Monday that the Iraqi government must act with increased vigilance to put an end to the threats posed by Iranian-backed paramilitary groups that have targeted US military positions.
Since the start of the Gaza war, Iranian-backed paramilitary groups in Iraq have carried out at least 165 attacks against US forces.
