Attendance of women at Azadi Stadium with maximum considerations

The Deputy of Women’s Sports Development at the Ministry of Sports and Youth has stated that for now, female spectators can attend Azadi Stadium, but conditions and frameworks must be met for stadiums in other cities.

Maryam Kazempour said today that with our efforts, women will be present at Azadi Stadium with maximum considerations. I hope that in the not-so-distant future, we will have a suitable special place for women to enjoy football in complete tranquility.

She said that efforts have been made to provide welfare requirements such as special entrances and vehicles for transporting women to the stands.

However, she did not provide statistics on the capacity of women’s presence at the stadium.

This policy was a result of widespread protests by Iranian women, but this year, in the Iranian Premier League, women were allowed, albeit limited, to attend football matches at Azadi Stadium for the first time in the month of Shahrivar.
