Work migration to Canada has become more difficult

It became more difficult to immigrate for work to Canada.

Canada announced on Friday, March 21 that for the first time in its history, after years of high immigrant intake, it intends to reduce the number of foreign temporary workers.

Ottawa stated that it aims to reduce the number of temporary residents in the country within three years from 62% of the current total population, equivalent to 25 million people, to 5% of the total population.

This goal will be finalized after consulting with provincial authorities in Canada. Some provinces in this country, amidst a housing crisis and increased demand for immigrant reception services, have reduced the acceptance of immigrants.

New restrictions on work permits for foreign temporary workers will begin from the first of May.
