Zahra Rahnavard: The Hijab and Modesty Law is Resentment Against the Revolutionary Women's Life Freedom Movement

Zahra Rahnavard says the Hijab and Chastity law is a vendetta against the transformative movement of ‘Woman, Life, Freedom’.

Zahra Rahnavard, one of the leaders of the Green Movement, in a statement sent from house arrest on Thursday, December 6, described the so-called Hijab and Chastity law as a pseudo-law and considered it a deliberate divide-and-rule policy. Rahnavard stated that this law is an insult to the nation and creates an earthquake and rift in the pillars of the state-nation.

She referred to this law as a pseudo-law that is a taunt and vendetta against the transformative movement of ‘Woman, Life, Freedom’. Zahra Rahnavard criticized policies that have resulted in unemployment, poverty, lack of housing, and the destruction of families.

She says the rulers dip into people’s pockets, turn freedoms into oppression, joy into mourning, children into criminals, call women to government guardianship, and offer foreigners the opportunity to insult women.
