Zarif speaks from the cabinet
Zarif from the cabinet announced on his Instagram post that the evaluation of proposals received for government officials is nearing its end.
In this post, Zarif mentioned that they have conducted their evaluations and selected between 10 to 15 candidates for further assessment in the second stage.
In the second stage, candidates are subjected to more detailed evaluations by committees, and if necessary, candidates are invited for voluntary interviews.
He further emphasized on the individual and confidential scoring, mentioning that scores are automatically aggregated and the results of each committee’s aggregation are being sent to the Steering Council.
Almost all speculations about the evaluation results of candidates in the committees have been incorrect or incomplete, mostly circulated to disturb public minds, create concerns, sensationalize, and create psychological pressure.
He also announced that the Steering Council has formed 5 groups for validating the scores of the committee candidates to carefully address received complaints and ensure the integrity of the process. The validation groups provide their opinions on the work integrity of each committee to the Steering Council.
This process has been completed for several committees and will gradually be completed for the rest of the committees.
So far, the evaluation group reports have indicated the health of the committees’ work, and in cases where there were ambiguities or complaints, they have been resolved with explanations from the respective committees or steps have been taken to resolve them. I must thank the members and officials of the committees who have diligently and faithfully carried out this task.
The head of the government’s steering council also continues our writing, as the dear elected president has repeatedly stated, they receive separate lists.
Although the selection of government members ultimately rests with them, dear medical doctors have entrusted the review of these nominees to the steering council to ensure transparency and the soundness of the process.
After reviewing the reports of committee chairs, secretaries, heads of working groups, evaluation groups, and hearing the names and backgrounds of nominees directly presented to Dr. Medical Doctors, each member of the steering council writes their confidential opinion on the nominees introduced by the committees and the elected president in writing.
Each council member can write the names of three candidates from the committees or the elected president’s lists on their survey sheet.
Council members can write the names of up to five candidates on their survey sheet, provided that two of them are from the youth, women, or ethnic groups.
Zarif also emphasized that the survey sheets are read and compiled by two members of the relevant validation group on the sidelines of the session and are provided to the head of the steering council.
The survey results of the committees and the steering council are compiled on one page and presented, along with detailed results, to the elected president.
According to the constitution, the final selection lies with the elected president, who can introduce individuals from among these candidates or others to the Islamic Consultative Assembly for a vote of confidence.
A documented report of the work of all committees and the steering council is being prepared and, God willing, in the future, it will be published as the results of a bold and pioneering initiative raised by Dr. Pezeshkian and implemented by some elite experts, representatives of various sectors, members of the headquarters, party representatives, and civil society. The names of the candidates and the number of votes will remain confidential to respect individuals’ privacy and prevent any misuse.
He also emphasized in his address to the citizens that this is a new experience that has definitely encountered flaws and shortcomings and needs to be improved in the future.
In addition to the obvious shortcomings of this new experience that we have acknowledged ourselves, there are also dissatisfactions with this process motivated by various reasons, from sincere concern to selfishness and seeking revenge from rivals, or even efforts to prevent the establishment of a transparent process beyond the control of powerful and wealthy circles. I hope the great people of Iran, with vigilance and attention to the importance of this initiative, do not allow news and rumors to interfere with their will and that of their elected representatives in addressing and rectifying the issues.
