The Secretary-General of the Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce says that the US has allowed Iraq to release and pay Iran 500 million dollars from Iranian funds in Iraqi banks.

The Secretary-General of the Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce has announced that during the recent visit of the Iraqi Foreign Minister to the US, permission has been granted to pay 500 million dollars from Iranian funds in Iraqi banks.

Hamid Hosseini refers to the visit of Fuad Hussein, the Iraqi Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, to Washington in late Bahman month (February).

According to reports, during this visit, important agreements were reached to expand cooperation between the two countries in the fields of trade, culture, health, and education.
