Starting from next year, Chinese and Arabic languages will be taught in schools.

Mahmoud Amani Tehrani, the General Director of the Supreme Council of the Ministry of Education of Iran, has announced that starting from next year, Chinese and Arabic languages will be added to the existing languages that are currently taught in schools.

He explained that the Arabic language, which will be taught from next year, is different from the Quranic Arabic, which is mandatory for everyone.

He stated that English, French, German, Italian, and Russian are currently foreign languages taught in schools.

Mr. Tehrani considered the choice of foreign language in school as optional and added that if a student wants to learn a language that is not offered in their school, they can study that language in institutes recommended by the Ministry of Education.
