Decline in Iran’s electricity exports and increase in electricity imports

The latest report from the Ministry of Energy shows that during the first 11 months of last year, the country’s electricity imports have significantly increased while electricity exports have declined.

According to this report, which has been published on the Ministry of Energy’s website, Iran had 427 terawatt-hours of electricity exports during the first 11 months of last year, indicating a decrease of about 16 percent compared to the same period the previous year.

During the same period, Iran also had nearly 38 terawatt-hours of electricity imports, which represents a growth of about 37 percent compared to the same period in 1400.

In recent years, Iran has been unable to implement plans to increase electricity production, launch new power plants, and reduce electricity losses in the network. As a result, its electricity exports have decreased every year and its imports have increased.
