Statement by 90 political activists against the police plan
Dozens of Iranian civil and political activists declared in statements released on Saturday, April 15th, that they will stand for the freedom of dress alongside Iranian women and hold the regime responsible for the consequences of insulting Iranian women.
In this statement, signed by activists such as Mohammad Nourizad, Fatemeh Sepehri, Giti Pourfazel, Kamal Jafari Yazdi, Puran Nazemi, and Zoroast Ahmadiraghab, believers in hijab are urged to separate themselves from oppressors and not become partners in the shame of the ruling government.
Ninety civil and political activists have signed this statement, declaring that they will strive until freedom and democracy are achieved, even at the cost of their lives.
This statement considers the movement for women’s freedom as a lasting opposition to tyranny in the history of Iranian struggles and asserts that after the November 1998 massacre, we became certain that we must be prepared to defend ourselves and our fellow countrymen in the streets.
