Food prices inflation announced to be over 76%

According to the latest monthly report by the Statistical Center of Iran, the increase in food prices in this year’s Ordibehesht (April-May) compared to the same month last year was declared to be over 76%.

Based on the details of the statistics released by this government institution on Friday, the 4th of Khordad, some food items have experienced significant inflation, including a more than double increase in the prices of various cooking oils and nearly a double increase in the prices of various meats.

The Statistical Center claims that the inflation rate in Ordibehesht compared to the same month last year is about 55%, and this figure is 55% and 50% for Farvardin (March-April) of this year and Esfand (February-March) of last year, respectively.
