People want to see a decrease in the exchange rate, says Qalibaf

Ghalibaf said that people want to see a reduction in the exchange rate.

Ghalibaf stated that since the government has set the exchange rate at 23,000 tomans and now, according to the parliamentary resolution, the market rate should be sold two percent below the average rate, a difference of 300 trillion tomans has been created in government revenues.

On the other hand, in closed-door meetings to decide on the reduction of the exchange rate and the government’s measures in this regard, we discussed that people expect to see a decrease in the price of the currency. On the other hand, an increase in the exchange rate leads to an increase in government revenues, and there is a suspicion that the government itself is interested in increasing the price of the currency.
