Free Water and Energy Consumption for Mobilization

Water and energy consumption became free for Basij

Iranian parliament representatives, in the continuation of reviewing the budget for the year 1402, approved certain sections of it, including exempting Basij from paying urban service connection fees and granting permission to sell oil to individuals through executive agencies.

According to ISNA, in the process of reviewing the 1402 budget bill, the Basij paramilitary organization has been exempted from paying urban service connection fees at all levels.

As a result, all ranks of the Basij organization, including bases, districts, or regions, will be exempt from paying electricity, gas, water, sewage connection fees, and municipal charges.

Parliament representatives also reversed their previous decision on granting tax exemptions to luxury homes. In a public session of the parliament, a tax on houses and villas valued at more than 20 billion tomans was approved.

Earlier, there was opposition to the proposal of taxing luxury homes in the parliament, including the argument that such a tax could lead to an increase in rents.
