17-20% Decrease in Saffron Exports in 1401

A 17 to 20 percent decrease in saffron exports in 1401

The Deputy Chairman of the National Saffron Council stated that the amount of saffron exports in 1400 was 268 tons, and the amount of exports last year did not reach 225 tons, meaning that we had a 17 to 20 percent decrease in saffron exports in 1401.

The restrictions imposed on saffron exports have led to an increase in saffron smuggling to neighboring countries.

Last year, we had 225 tons of saffron exports, of which approximately 40 percent of this amount was smuggled saffron.
