Four synagogues in Manhattan temporarily closed and evacuated due to bomb threats.
According to the New York Police, four synagogues in the Manhattan neighborhood of this major city in the United States have been temporarily closed and evacuated due to bomb threats.
The New York Police added that emails have been sent to these religious places in which unidentified individuals have threatened that explosive materials have been placed in buildings near the synagogues. As a result, the police have closed these synagogues as a precautionary measure and initiated investigations.
Furthermore, the police stated that a threatening email was sent to the Brooklyn Museum, claiming that a nearby subway station named East Park Vibrooklyn Museum will be exploded.
Mark Levin, the head of the Manhattan district, wrote on the social network X that all four bomb threats at Manhattan synagogues were fake. He added that these threats are an obvious attempt to scare the Jewish community and are unacceptable to us.
The New York Police stated that no traces of bombs have been found in any of the threatened locations, but the police will continue their further investigations to identify the individuals who sent the emails.
