French President Condemns Pro-Palestinian Protests at Universities

The President of France condemned protests in universities in support of Palestinians.

Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, strongly criticized the protest gatherings at elite universities like Sciences Po and other universities in the country in support of Palestinians. He stated that he understands the shocking impact of the conflict in Gaza on people, but preventing dialogue and discussion has never helped in resolving crises and conflicts.

Macron, in an interview with newspapers La Provence and La Tribune, accused the protesters of trying to impose their demands by resorting to violence and creating barriers to prevent Jewish students from entering the university.

Last Friday, on May 3rd, the French police peacefully ended the siege of protesters supporting Palestinians in the courtyard of the Sciences Po university building.
