Passing a Law in Germany to Combat Parliamentary Corruption

The Federal Parliament of Germany, Bundestag, on Saturday, April 26, passed laws to address corruption and misconduct by members of parliament.

Under the new laws, parliamentarians who abuse their position and authority related to their mandate in the parliament to exert influence, for example, over ministries, will face legal consequences in the future.

According to paragraph 108a, unauthorized representation of interests will be considered a criminal offense in the future.
