The Ministry of Health of Iran does not license online drug sales websites and platforms in Iran

The Ministry of Health in Iran has stated that online drug-selling websites and platforms in Iran do not have licenses.

Iranian Student News Agency, quoting the head of the Pharmacy Department of the Food and Drug Organization of the Ministry of Health in Iran, has written that online drug-selling websites and platforms in Iran do not have licenses.

In this report, and quoting Mina Azhoug, the head of the Pharmacy Department of the Food and Drug Organization, it is stated that the supply, sale, and advertising of pharmaceutical products on unauthorized websites and platforms is illegal.

Ms. Azhoug has added that pharmacies are the only official source for drug supply, and people should only obtain drugs from pharmacies because drugs must meet appropriate conditions for procurement, distribution, and supply.

The head of the Pharmacy Department of the Food and Drug Organization also stated that some of the legal cases related to platform involve expired drugs, smuggled drugs, abortion drugs, and narcotics.
