Afghan migrants residing in Pakistan are hiding in their homes out of fear of being expelled and sent back to Afghanistan.

At least 17 million Afghan migrants without residency permits are living in Pakistan, who have been targeted for forced expulsion since October of last year.

According to some reports, Pakistan has started the implementation of a plan for the forced expulsion of Afghan migrants since October of last year, returning approximately 600,000 Afghan citizens to their country as foreign nationals without documents. Therefore, at least one million Afghans without documents have hidden themselves in Pakistan.

Earlier, some reports mentioned the directive of the Pakistani Ministry of Interior to all relevant state departments to identify the residence of Afghan migrants and refugees and to investigate what type of immigration cards they possess.
