Construction in Laleh Park halted by Tehran City Council member

Construction in Laleh Park was halted by a Tehran City Council member.

The head of Tehran City Council’s Urban Planning Commission announced the suspension of construction in Laleh Park.

Mehdi Abbasi discussed the outcome of the construction in Laleh Park, mentioning a meeting held in the Urban Planning Commission of Tehran City Council regarding Laleh Park. He stated that in this meeting, the Deputy of Urban Services, the CEO of Parks Organization, and the district mayor were present, and it was decided to halt the construction.

He stated that for now, construction in Laleh Park has been suspended due to the presence of the City Council on the matter. It was also decided that the construction plan should be submitted to the Urban Planning Commission of Tehran City Council for necessary reviews.

Abbasi outlined two scenarios for the new construction: either the project will be relocated to the lands across from the park following an agreement with Tehran University, or the project will be carried out in a different location, which of course needs to be further examined.
