Criticism of intellectuals for changing the name of Esteghlal Club to Capital Red Hawks, do not make fun

Critics of renaming Esteghlal Club to ‘Paytakht Sho’a’ are advised not to exaggerate.

Farheekhtegan newspaper wrote about the specific case of adding the ‘Persian Gulf’ suffix to the name of Esteghlal, which the media covered yesterday as good news, quoting Ali Askari. We do not intend to delve into the resumes of Abdulali Ali Askari and Seyyed Mohammad Mehdi Ahmadi, who are currently more visible in front of the cameras and giving interviews than other managers of Esteghlal and Persepolis.

We are not planning to analyze the background of each of these two managers in relation to their current managerial positions. Nor are we going to investigate their family relationships and genealogy, such as which one is married to whom and which minister’s daughter is connected to their other brother. Unfortunately or fortunately, we do not have concerns about these matters, despite the sensitivity of the fate of these two clubs, as fans’ priority is not these issues.

What concerns us more than anything is the erosion of this social capital, a capital that, if we continue to face confrontations with its current management directives, like many similar examples in the country, will suffer from fatigue and even destruction.

The capital that we all know cannot be compensated for by the whims of some managers, neither with the money of certain oil barrels holding companies, nor with the assets of a certain bank.
