Iran’s ATAR airplanes grounded
More than 80% of the airplanes in Iran’s ATAR fleet, which were purchased after the nuclear deal, are grounded due to a shortage of landing gear components.
The Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran, referring to the impact of sanctions on Iran’s aviation industry, said, ‘They sold us nuclear deal airplanes, but did not provide us with the parts. In these circumstances, we must prioritize safety, keep the industry running, and serve the people.’
Mohammad Mohammadibakhsh, the Deputy Minister, stated on Wednesday, February 19th, to ISNA news agency, ‘While ICAO says that aviation knowledge should be spread without discrimination, the US even refrains from sending aviation publications to Iran. They sold us nuclear deal airplanes, but did not provide us with the parts. In these circumstances, we must prioritize safety, keep the industry running, and serve the people.’
