A Russian Sukhoi Jet Crashes on the Coasts of Crimea

A Russian Sukhoi jet crashed on the coasts of Crimea.

A Russian Sukhoi Su-35 Flanker jet crashed near the coasts of Sevastopol in Crimea, and videos that have been released show the jet crashing, catching fire, rotating towards the ocean, and exploding.

Mikhail Razvozhaev, the governor of the occupied region, announced on Friday that the pilot successfully ejected from the aircraft and was rescued by emergency responders, but did not provide an explanation for the crash.

Maria Avdeeva, a Ukrainian security expert, claimed that the jet was shot down, while Ukrainian-supporting Telegram channels speculate that it was a self-inflicted fire.

Ukrainian officials have not commented on these claims, which are not independently verifiable. This region has been repeatedly targeted by Ukraine during the conflict over the past two years.
