According to news reports from Tehran’s currency market, the price of the US dollar has crossed the 50,000 Toman threshold. These reports also indicate that the price of the Bahar Azadi gold coin is on the verge of breaking the historical record of 30 million Tomans.
As reported from Tehran’s currency market, each US dollar is being traded at a price higher than 50,000 Tomans, setting a historical and concerning record. Despite warnings from experts about this unprecedented surge, the government and the central bank insisted on their previous approach.
The currency injection did not heal the pain.
The record of 50,000 Tomans per US dollar was set while the government had injected a significant amount of currency into the open market in the days leading up to the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution on February 11. This government action had caused the price of the dollar to be compressed to around 45,000 Tomans. However, after the end of the annual celebrations of the Ten-Day Dawn, the price of the dollar faced an increase of about 5,000 Tomans.
The gold coin is becoming worth 30 million Tomans.
The exchange rate has reached a historical record of 50,000 Tomans, and experts believe that the price of each Bahar Azadi gold coin is expected to reach 30 million Tomans due to the rapid growth of the exchange rate. It is anticipated that the 30 million record price for each Bahar Azadi gold coin will be soon established. In this regard, it is expected that each gram of 18-carat gold will also be traded at a price of over 3 million Tomans soon.
