He was elected for another term as president of Russia in March with a large majority.
Vladimir Putin began his fifth presidential term by thanking the support of the people and the army in the war with Ukraine, where he launched a special military operation.
I thank all participants in the special military operation. I want to thank everyone fighting for our motherland. We will determine Russia’s fate ourselves. We will get through this tough period and we will succeed.
Vladimir Putin’s first inauguration ceremony took place in May 2000. At that time, he pledged to preserve and develop democracy and protect Russia.
