What response does a member of the Senate have to the 60,000 Tomans exchange rate for the dollar?
Azami, a member of the Agricultural Commission, criticized the government for not controlling the dollar exchange rate. People and representatives expect economic, political, and regulatory authorities of the country to keep the dollar price stable so that the prices of other essential goods are not affected by its increase. In fact, they want to prevent political issues and considerations from influencing the exchange rate and subsequently the economy and people’s livelihoods.
Although the government had promised to control inflation, boost housing construction, and regulate the import of cars in its election campaigns, and although the parliament has passed laws in these areas and given power to the government, none of these promises have been effectively implemented.
